St Peter bi-weekly Bible Study Session with Youth

July,12 2019

It was a review on Chapters 1 through 8 in the Gospel of Mark (which had read a few months ago), led by Malfonito Patricia.

It is especially appropriate that the book of Mark starts with "This is the beginning of the Gospel of Jesus Christ...."

Note that the beginning of the Gospel is about John the Baptist, who began preaching before Jesus did. Both John and Mark quote from Isaiah, who preached several hundred years before John and Jesus were born. God didn't just send Jesus into a situation where no one was expecting Him – the way had been carefully prepared.

As we read through Chapters 1-8 we read of the importance of facing the peaks and valleys of our life, and making the choice of preparing the soil of our hearts to be receptive of the work He is doing in and through us. This is seen in the Parables told in these chapters.

We went through the time of transition with the Lord and His Apostles, trusting that He knows what He is doing even when we can't believe it.

We saw one of Jesus' most important questions for us: "Who do you say that I am?" (Mark 8:27)

We read of Jesus' important teachings on the family, on salvation, and of His power to transform even the most unlikely life.

Mark 1:15
"The time is fulfilled, and the Kingdom of God is at hand. Repent and believe the Gospel."

Come and join us to learn the word of God.
