CHRIST IS RISEN! TRULY RISEN

April,15 2023

ܩܡ ܡܪܢ ܡܢ ܒܝܬ ܡܝ̈ܬܐ܆ ܫܪܝܪܐܝܬ ܩܡ
- Christ Is Risen; He is Risen -

My Beloved Faithful
Rejoicing in the Risen Christ, the Source and Fulfillment of our faith and salvation, I sincerely greet you all saying:
ܩܡ ܡܪܢ ܡܢ ܒܝܬ ܡܝ̈ܬܐ܆ ܫܪܝܪܐܝܬ ܩܡ
- Christ Is Risen; He is Risen -

Our Lord Jesus, the Word of the Father, came to our world and was born to die—and to rise again. That was the reason for His Incarnation from the beginning. On the cross, Jesus faced the judgment of God the Father. He took the wrath of God upon Himself on behalf of humanity.

The Resurrection of Jesus Christ is the cornerstone of the Christian faith and holds immense significance for us believers. I want to share some of the reasons with you:

1. It confirms Jesus' claims of being the Son of God: Throughout His ministry, Jesus claimed to be the Son of God. However, many people did not believe Him. His Resurrection was a powerful confirmation of His claims. It showed that Jesus was not just a good teacher or prophet but was, in fact, the Son of God.

2. It demonstrates God's power over death: Death is one of the most fearsome enemies of humanity. It is the end of life as we know it, and it is something that we cannot overcome on our own. However, the Resurrection of Jesus demonstrates that God has power over death. It shows that death is not the end and that God can grant eternal life to those who believe in Him.

3. It offers hope of eternal life: The Resurrection of Jesus provides believers with the hope of eternal life. This hope sustains believers during difficult times and gives them a sense of purpose and meaning. Because of Jesus' Resurrection, we know we will be raised from the dead and have eternal life with God.

4. It provides victory over sin and death: Sin is the root of all evil and is why death exists. However, through His death and Resurrection, Jesus conquered sin and death. He paid the price for our sins on cross, and by rising from the dead, He demonstrated that sin and death no longer have power over us.

5. It is the foundation of the Christian faith: The Resurrection is the central event of the Christian faith. It is the foundation on which all Christian beliefs and practices are based. Without the Resurrection, Christianity would not exist.

6. It inspires believers to live a new life: The Resurrection of Jesus inspires believers to live a new life. It shows us that we can overcome sin and death, live a life of faith, love, and obedience to God, and be Children of God the Father. It encourages us to live for something greater than ourselves and to strive to make a positive difference in the world.

So, the Resurrection of Jesus is a profound and transformative event with many significant implications for believers. It confirms Jesus' claims of being the Son of God, demonstrates God's power over death, offers hope of eternal life, provides victory over sin and death, is the foundation of the Christian faith, and inspires believers to live a new life.

Let us then transform our life into a renewed spiritual life of Resurrection. Let us feel the Resurrection, the powerful presence of Almighty God in our lives. Let the Resurrection of our Lord enrich our personal and communal life so that we may put on the new person in Christ and walk with God in a new life. Let the Resurrection of Christ grant us the vision to become the living Church through reading and practicing the Word of God in our life.

On this holy day of Resurrection, we extend our paternal love and blessings to our Western Archdiocese clergy, parish councils, parishes, committees, and all organizations. May the transformative and enlivening message of the Resurrection continue to resonate throughout the hearts and souls of every Syrian Orthodox individually and throughout our nation collectively, with faithful parishioners praying for the Risen Christ to fill us with hope, joy, and peace, which comes from God alone.

We seize this occasion to congratulate our Spiritual father, His Holiness Moran Mor Ignatius Ephram II, as well as all prelates of the church, asking the risen Lord to prolong their lives with heavenly wisdom and sound health. Dear Faithful, let us pray for the peace of the church and the entire world. Let us pray that our children may not be led into the world's temptation, asking Christ, our risen Lord, to bring back to you many more years of blessing, good health, happiness, love, and peace.

CHRIST IS RISEN! TRULY RISEN
