A brotherly visit between two venerable ArchbishopsJanuary,23 2024On Tuesday, January 23, 2024, on the occasion of our Lord's feasts, His Eminence Hovnan Derderian, Primate Archbishop of the Western Diocese of the Armenian Church of North America, paid a brotherly visit to His Eminence Mor Clemis Eugene Kaplan, Archbishop of the Syriac Orthodox Archdiocese of the Western USA, at St. Ephraim Cathedral. During the brotherly visit, the two venerable Archbishops discussed the current and uncertain events. They decided to continue meetings between the Oriental Orthodox Churches as they used to before covid 19 to strengthen relations between their churches, clergy, and faithful.

The Western Archdiocese of the Syriac Orthodox Church of Antioch,
providing spiritual guidance and leadership to the Syriac Orthodox
community, is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit, tax-exempt organization
comprised of 18 churches and parishes in 17 western states. It was
established in 1952 as the Archdiocese of the Syrian Orthodox Church
encompassing the entire United States and Canada. In November 1995 by
the Holy Synod, the Western Archdiocese was formed to exclusively
serve the 17 states of the western half United States.
