Deacon Ordination at St. Peter, San Dimas

St. Peter celebrated the ordination of 15 deacons on Sunday, September 21st. It was a joyous day, as it was the first time an ordination ceremony has taken place at St Peter since its establishment in 2010. His Eminence Archbishop Mor Clemis Eugene Kaplan assisted by Rev. Fr. Yusuf Kallo celebrated the Divine Liturgy with many faithful in attendance.

His Eminence spoke about the importance of being a deacon, serving the altar and the vow to our Lord Jesus Christ. He encouraged the deacons to attend church every Sunday and understanding the responsibility of being ordained. Reading the Holy Bible will only deepen their love and relationship with the Lord in which He has called upon them to serve.

The families of the ordained deacons contributed so the entire congregation can join in a celebration with a luncheon and sweets/fruits following the Liturgy. We congratulate all the deacons on their ordination and may God bless them for their service.
