St. Peter Church Sunday School Students Graduation

St. Peter Church had a special day on Sunday, October 12th in recognizing 9 graduating Sunday School students: Valerie Mikhail, Joseph Murad, Stephan Bekdas, Dominic Allaf, Andrew Tarakji, Michelle Can, Gabriella Allaf, Tyler Peltekci, and Jonny Can.

His Eminence Archbishop Mor Clemis Eugene Kaplan celebrated the Divine Liturgy and after the sermon spoke to the graduating students, His Eminence was elated with the knowledge and dedication these students have with the church. His Eminence continued by encouraging the students to continue their service to the church in many ways - through Jr. Youth, deaconry, and soon to be in the youth organization.

Mrs. Patricia Allaf the Sunday School Director then spoke briefly about the graduating children growing up in the church and how their have learned many things about our church traditions history, and the Holy Bible. His Eminence, Rev. Fr. Yusuf and Patricia then stood near the altar and called the students individually to present them their certificates. After the Liturgy His Eminence, Fr Yusuf and the students all sat together and enjoyed lunch. The families of the graduating students graciously prepared various Lenten dishes for His Eminence and Fr Yusuf and there was cake as well as baklava for the church community to enjoy.

It was a very joyous day for St. Peter as our future leaders completed their first chapter in their lives in graduating Sunday School and now continue their Jr Youth era as young leaders and learners.
