Meeting of the Oriental Orthodox Churches Council in Western USA

Their Eminences: Mor Clemis Eugene Kaplan, of the Syriac Orthodox Church, Western Archdiocese USA, Anba Serapion of the Coptic Orthodox Church of South California and Hawaii Diocese, and Anba Abraham, Assistant of His Eminence Anba Serapion, Hovnan Derderian of the Western Diocese of the Armenian Church of North America (Atchmiazin), Moushegh Mardorissian of Armenian Apostolic Church of America (Antelias). And many reverend Fathers accompanied their Eminences, met together in the regular council meeting of this year of 2016 at the headquarters of the Western Diocese of the Armenian Church, located at: 3325 N. Glenoaks Blvd., Burbank, CA.

His Eminence Mor Clemis accompanied by Rev. Fr. Gabriel Hanna, priest of St. Ephraim Cathedral, Burbank.

The session started by prayer, then in their meeting, the prelates prayed for the peace of the suffering Middle East and all Christianity which is in pain for the sake of the Lord. Then they discussed the main subjects about the joint pastoral issues among their Dioceses. The main subjects were: Joint Clergy Divine Liturgy (appointed to be held on Thursday April 20, 2017), Sunday School Activities (to find coordinator), Youth Activities, and the prelates agree to have “Today Martyrs” Day and celebrate together the late Martyrs of the century, and they appointed planning committee to organize for this event (which is going to meet in November 22, 2016).

Next meeting is going to be held at St. Ephraim Syriac Orthodox Cathedral on Thursday February 09, 2017. Meeting adjourned by the prayer.

Followed by luncheon prepared by the hosed Diocese.
