Sunday School Teachers Workshop

Last weekend September 22, the Sunday School Teachers Workshop was held at St Peter's church. The workshop began with prayers led by Rev. Fr. Yusuf Kallo, the priest of St. Peter, who then welcomed everyone.

Mrs. Patricia Allaf, the Western Archdiocese Sunday School Director, began with handouts that focused on Teacher Qualities, and how they can be implemented in the lessons.

The Biblical focus was on St. Paul the Apostle and his mission. Teachers were placed in Jigsaw Groups, read a handout on St. Paul, then had to get in grade level groups to create 2 Charts which will be used as Visuals and help students recall main ideas about the weekly lesson/focus.

These were teaching strategies Patricia introduced to all, and how they can be used in different ways in Sunday School & Jr High Bible Class.

Following the lesson and group work, the game Kahoot was introduced and teachers played a Kahoot game on St. Paul.

Everyone enjoyed light snacks and refreshments.
