With submission to the will of God, with great sorrow, we announce the passing away of blessed memory His Eminence Mor Selwanos Boutros Al-Nehmeh, Archbishop of Homs, Hama, Tartous and Environs, on the evening of Monday, December 07, 2020, in Damascus – Syria.
His Eminence and the Clergy of the Western Archdioceses extend their prayers and heartfelt condolences to His Holiness the Patriarch and all prelates of the Holy Synod of the Syriac Orthodox Church of Antioch, special condolences to the family, clergy, faithful of the Archdiocese of late Archbishop Mor Selwanos and his relatives.
May God rest him in peace with those who fulfilled His will on earth, Amen.

The Western Archdiocese of the Syriac Orthodox Church of Antioch,
providing spiritual guidance and leadership to the Syriac Orthodox
community, is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit, tax-exempt organization
comprised of 18 churches and parishes in 17 western states. It was
established in 1952 as the Archdiocese of the Syrian Orthodox Church
encompassing the entire United States and Canada. In November 1995 by
the Holy Synod, the Western Archdiocese was formed to exclusively
serve the 17 states of the western half United States.
