Local Churches Clergy & Sunday School Teachers MeetingAugust,16 2021On Saturday, August 15th, The Western Archdiocese held a local Clergy and Sunday School Teachers' meeting at St Peter Syriac Orthodox Church in San Dimas, California. The meeting was under the auspices of His Eminence Archbishop of the Archdiocese Mor Clemis Eugene Kaplan.
Churches from Southern California were represented during this blessed gathering. The theme was the scripture "I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life" John 14:6
During the joint meeting, topics of discussion were --
a) The Sunday School curriculum for Kindergarten through Fifth grade
b) Rev. Fr Saliba Kassis presenting on the Theme of the Meeting (John 14:6)
c) The importance of the clergy - teachers - families communicating together to build a strong Christian foundation for the children.
d) Question and Answer session
e) 'How to Pray' lesson led by Patricia
Everyone enjoyed an assumption of Virgin Mary Lenten lunch and being together through the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ.
After having lunch, two separate meetings continue, one for Sunday School Teachers and the other for Clergy.
We look forward to another Clergy and Sunday School Teachers' meeting in February. May the Lord bless all churches, teachers & families as the beginning of the new Sunday School program year is upon us

The Western Archdiocese of the Syriac Orthodox Church of Antioch,
providing spiritual guidance and leadership to the Syriac Orthodox
community, is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit, tax-exempt organization
comprised of 18 churches and parishes in 17 western states. It was
established in 1952 as the Archdiocese of the Syrian Orthodox Church
encompassing the entire United States and Canada. In November 1995 by
the Holy Synod, the Western Archdiocese was formed to exclusively
serve the 17 states of the western half United States.
