In the hope of resurrection, submission to God's will, and great sorrow, the Archdiocese of the Western USA, shares the unexpected demise of His Eminence Mor Polycarpose Zacharias, Metropolitan of the Malabar Diocese in Kerala, after a heart attack.

Kochillathu Zacharias Mor Polycarpose (23 July 1970 – 21 June 2022) was the Metropolitan of Malankara Syriac Orthodox Church. He served on the advisory boards of various educational institutions including St Mary's College Meenangadi, St Peter's & St Paul's English Medium School and Aramaia International Residential School.
Mor Zacharias died from a heart attack at a hospital in Mannarkkad on 21 June 2022 at the age of 52.

His Eminence Mor Clemis Eugene Kaplan, the Clergy, and faithful parishioners of the Western Archdiocese extend their prayers and heartfelt condolences to His Holiness the Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphram II and His Beatitude the Catholicose Mor Baselios Thomas I.
