The periodic meeting of the priests of the Archdiocese of the Western USA local churches

Under the auspices of His Eminence Mor Clemis Eugene Kaplan, Metropolitan of the Archdiocese of the Western United States, a meeting for the priests of the local churches was held on Tuesday, November 8, 2022, at St. Ephraim Syriac Orthodox Cathedral in Burbank, California.

His Eminence the metropolitan opened the meeting with a special prayer, and welcomed everyone, then congratulated very Rev. Fr. Fadi Y. Atto on the sanctification of the newly purchased building of St. Thomas the Apostle church in El Cajon and his elevation to the rank of Khouroyo, expressing fatherly care for everything that leads to the good and prosperity of the Church.

His Eminence asked Rev. Fr. Gabriel Hanna, the priest of the Cathedral of St. Ephraim the Syrian in Burbank, California, to read a reading he prepared from the fifth chapter of St. Paul’s Epistle to the Ephesians. The issue of marital bonding in the light of what the Apostle said in his epistle. His Eminence, in turn, praised this subject, enriching him with his information and comments on the topic, explaining that the bond is a covenant and not a contract, like Christ's covenant with His church.

Also, under the guidance of His Eminence, the priests studied the topics on the agenda. He urged them to continue their praiseworthy sacrifices in the field of the Lord, which bore fruit and even yielded blessed results, promising to be, as before, the guide in achieving everything that leads to the good and progress of all churches, by the faith of the believers, their firm bond with each other, and their attachment to their mother, the Church.

His Eminence wished the priests to exert maximum efforts in spreading faith and love among believers through their sermons and visits to the homes of believers and working with the religious parish councils and all ecclesiastical institutions for the prosperity of the Church.

The meeting ended with a closing prayer from His Eminence. Everyone enjoyed the gathering and the lunch offered by St. Ephraim Cathedral.

الاجتماع الدوري لكهنة الكنائس المحلية لأبرشية الولايات الغربية من الولايات المتحدة الأميركية
بتذكيرٍ من سكرتارية الكاتدرائية عُقِد الاجتماع لكهنة الكنائس المحلية لأبرشية غربي الولايات المتحدة تحت رعاية الحبر الجليل مار إقليميس اوجين النائب البطريركي لهذه الأبرشية. وذلك يوم الثلاثاء المصادف 8 تشرين الثاني 2022 بقاعة اجتماعات كاتدرائية مار أفرام السرياني في مدينة بربانك، كاليفورنيا. حضر هذا لاجتماع جميع كهنة الكنائس المحلية.

افتتح نيافته الإجماع بصلاةٍ خاصة ثم بدأ نيافته بالترحيب بالجميع وبخاصةٍ مهنئاً الأب الخوري فادي يوسف عطو بتدشين بناء كنيسة مار توما الرسول الجديد وبترقيته لدرجة الخورنة، داعياً للرعية ومسؤوليها ومُبدياً رعاية أبوية لكل ما يؤول لخير وازدهار الكنيسة.

وانبرى الاب الفاضل كبرئيل حنا كاهن كاتدرائية مار أفرام السرياني في بربانك، كاليفورنيا، شارحاً من الفصل الخامس من رسالة مار بولس الرسول لأهل أفسس، موضوع الارتباط الزوجي على ضوء قول الرسول، وأجاد الأب كبرئيل بشرحه في توضيح معاني الموضوع المدرَج أعلاه. وكان ما قدمه أبوته وقعاً مريحاً في نفوس اخوته الكهنة وأثنى نيافته بدوره على هذا الموضوع وكعادته زاده غنى بمعلوماته وتعليقاته على الموضوع وسأل الآباء الكهنة أن يركزوا بعظاتهم على أهداف العائلة المباركة، المحبة والتضحية، ووحدة العائلة والعناية بها على مثال ارتباط الرب المسيح بكنيسته والعمل على تقديسها واتمام مشيئة الآب فيها، لأن الارتباط هو عهد وليس عقد، كعهد المسيح لكنيسته .

وتدارس الآباء الكهنة بإرشاد نيافته المواضيع المدرجة على جدول الاعمال، وحثهم نيافته على مواصلة ما يقدموه من تضحياتٍ مشكورة في حقل الرب والتي تُثمرُ بل وأثمرت نتائجَ مباركة، واعداً ان يكون كما كان سابقاً المرشِد والهادي في تحقيق كل ما يؤول لخير وتقدم الكنائس جمعاء، وهو يفتخر بإيمان المؤمنين ولحمتهم المتينة مع بعضهم البعض وتعلقهم بأمهم الكنيسة. وهذا ما لمسه نيافته ولازال يلمسه من خلال زياراته الميمونة.

وتمنى نيافته على الآباء الكهنة بذل أقصى الجهود في بسط الإيمان والمحبة بين المؤمنين من خلال مواعظهم وزياراتهم لبيوت المؤمنين والعمل مع المجالس الملية وكل المؤسسات الكنسية لازدهار الكنيسة.

وصلى نيافته صلاة الختام وتقدم الجميع الى مائدة الغداء المهيأة من قِبَل كاتدرائية القديس مار أفرام.
